Andrew's 1st Christmas

Andrew's first Christmas was quite a success. We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house Christmas Eve, where Andrew got many presents, including a pony! OK, not a real pony, but just as much fun to ride and without as much clean-up. :) When we got home, Andrew opended up one present from under the tree - a new pair of pajamas. I am hoping that this is going to become a tradition in the Mahoney house... each Christmas Eve, Andrew will get a new pair of pajamas to wear while he waits for Santa to come. Andrew then went to sleep and I got the best present ever - Andrew slept from 9 until 5:30, ate, then slept until 8:30!! Praise Santa!! Hehe. When Andrew did finally wake up he opened a few gifts from Santa, and we enjoyed breakfast with Uncle Pat and Aunt Kelly. So, like I said, Christmas was very successful... hopefully they only get better from here.

1st Laugh!

Andrew was playing with Nana and let out his first real laugh - it was awesome. :)

3 Months!

Ok, I know I am a little late on posting this, but things have been a bit busy seeing as we are fully intrenched in the holiday season. But, holidays or no holidays, the days go on, and we couldn't stop Andrew from turning 3 months old! I can't believe the time is flying by so quickly - we feel like it was just yesterday that he was born. We don't know his exact weight becuase Andrew did not have to go to the doctor this month for a well-baby visit. But, he was there a few weeks ago, and he weighed 11 lbs, 10 oz. So, we are estimating that he weighs just over 12 lbs at this point - he is getting to be such a big boy! He is even graduating into 3-6 month clothes. :) So, here is Andrew's 3 month picture. Can you tell what his shirt says?

Thanks Nana!

Andrew seemed to be getting a little bored with his current play things, so Hanukkah Harry (aka Nana) came to the rescue with a new bouncy seat. Needless to say, Andrew loved it! I don't know who was happier - Andrew or mommy. :) He has been playing with it for two days now, and he especially likes it when he makes it light up and sing when he hits the toys with his knees.

2 Months!

Today Andrew is 2 months old! Wow, I can't believe it has been 2 months already - time really is flying by. At the pediatrician this morning, Andrew got 2 thumbs up. His stats as of today are 10 lbs, 11 oz (25th percentile) and 23.5 in (50th percentile). Sadly, his head circumference is also in the 25th percentile - I guess he takes after his mommy. Hehe. As of now, he is meeting all of the developmental marks that he should be - he is tracking back and forth, cooing, smiling, and starting to lift his head when he has "tummy time". But, unfortunately, he is still not sleeping really long at night. :( I have that on my birthday, Hanukkah, and Christmas lists. :)

Here are some "outtakes" from the monthly pictures... HAHA!

Touch

There are no pictures or fancy videos to this post; in fact, this will be pretty short (notice the time that I am doing this). But, as I was feeding Andrew tonight, he wrapped his tiny hand around my thumb, and it didn't even reach all the way around. Out of all of the moments thus far, I feel as if this one made me feel the closest connection to my little man. The feeling is actually really hard to put into words, but it was magical...

Smiles and Laughter

Andrew has statred smiling and laughing at things other than his own gassiness. :) Seeing him laugh is more than I imagined it could be. They say that your own child's smile will melt your heart, but I had no idea how true this was until Andrew started. If I am feeling frustrated or tired, all I have to do is see him smile, and things don't seem *quite* as bad. :) Some of his favorite things that make him smile is getting a new diaper (that would make anyone happy!), looking at his "friend" in the mirror (he thinks his friend is very handsome, and so do we), and getting kisses from his friend, "Mr. Bee".

Halloween

Andrew's first Halloween was quite a success, if I do say so myself. :) In other words, he looked super cute in his costume, didn't ruin it with any "blow outs" or projectile spit-up, and was very well behaved at the annual Rockburn View Halloween party. We started the day's festivities with a visit to the doctor's office for a weight check (not typically a part of Halloween, but it was great to see his weight). For those keeping track, Andrew weighs in at a hefty 9lbs, 9oz. From there we went to visit Nana at the Sheraton, where he was a huge attraction - everyone loves a baby in a Halloween costume. When we got home, Grandma Rose came over for a visit. Once nightfall came, we all sat outside on the front step and gave out candy to the trick-or-treaters. Then it was off to the party, which Andrew slept through. But, at least he was quiet and well-behaved. :) Next year we will have to hit the pavement and go trick-or-treating!

The First

My very first blog. :) Who knew I would cave and join the world of blogging? But, I guess now that Andrew has joined our lives, this would be a perfect place to share the happenings of the Mahoney family, which, we all know, means that this is where I can gush about all of the cute things that Andrew is doing! So, to get started, here are a few of our favorite pictures from the first 5 1/2 weeks!

First family photo.

Milk mustache!

My first bath - I love bathtime!

With my daddy.

Sucking my thumb - so cute!

Not quite the pumpkin patch (it was too crowded), but just as cute anyways!
